The Mainland economy continues to outperform the rest of the world as it recovers from the downturn caused by COVID-19. Unsurprisingly, Mainland China has once again become a focus for investment from Hong Kong and overseas; the Greater Bay Area in particular will act as a magnet for talent, both local and international, and the dynamic environment on the Mainland brings its own complexity for employers.

It is crucial for those investing in and carrying in business in the Mainland to have an understanding of PRC employment law, which functions in a very different way to the common law system familiar to those based in Hong Kong, with much greater emphasis on the rights of the employee.

This webinar will provide an introduction to PRC employment and labour law, with a focus on the importance of the employee handbook in labour relations, and the different methods for terminating an employee when the relationship comes to an end.
