Henry Li is an Associate in Dentons Hong Kong office, and a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolutions team. Prior to joining the firm, Henry was in the litigation team of the Hong Kong office of a leading PRC law firm. Henry has experience in representing local and multinational clients in Hong Kong litigation and arbitration proceedings. His practice focuses on civil and commercial disputes.

  • Confidential client: Defending shareholders and directors of a Hong Kong company in litigation proceedings brought by a listed real estate conglomerate for breaches of share charges. Advanced counterclaims on breaches of shareholders’ agreements regarding distribution of profits of a large scaled PRC development project. Amount in dispute exceeded HK$800 million.
  • Confidential client: Acting for debtors in respect of claims of outstanding loans in the total amount of over HK$650 million involving over 30 agreements including loan agreements, guarantees and mortgages.
  • Confidential client: Representing one of the German furniture manufacturers in challenging jurisdiction of Hong Kong Courts. Work included applying for stay of proceedings and opposing an application for consolidation of proceedings.
  • Confidential client: Representing an American NGO in recovering losses resulted from an email fraud. Lost funds exceeded HK$3.5 million. Work included applying for urgent Mareva injunction.
  • Confidential client: Advising a PRC finance leasing company in a dispute arising from breach of a Boeing aircraft financial lease by aircraft hirer. Value of contract exceeded US$88 million.
  • Confidential client: Advised a medical humanitarian organization on employment and operational matters, including reviewing agreements in relation to its website renovation.
