On the afternoon of June 26, 2019, Keith Brandt, Managing Partner of Dentons Hong Kong office, along with Lily Kang, Liaison Manager and Iris Li, Associate visited the Dentons Changsha office for a business development meeting with 20 partners and lawyers of Changsha office including Mao Ying, partner who led the meeting.
Mao Ying welcomed the team with a warm greeting and an introduction of Changsha office, followed by Keith's introduction of Hong Kong office's current and future plans and business development strategies in Greater China. The two teams discussed under the theme of, 'how to strengthen the relationship between Hong Kong and Changsha offices?' and exchanged the insights and experience from recent case studies including those handled jointed by the Dentons Hong Kong office and PRC offices.
Hong Kong is an international financial center, also a business hub fostering inbound and outbound investments of China, legal services providers in Hong Kong have rich experience dealing with PRC and international law related issues. Changsha is a core city of the pilot zone of national comprehensive social reform in China, serving as the Belt and Road's key growth zone, as well as the site of Mao Zedong's conversion to communism. In recent years, Hong Kong has become the largest source of foreign investment and the largest export market of Changsha. This fruitful discussion and exchange established the foundation for the further cooperation between the two offices.
